John "Will" Thorpe is a 2015 OF/1B/C with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Greer, SC who attends Eastside HS. Strong physical build, especially in the lower half. 7.11 runner, moves to the ball well in the outfield, long arm action, soft accurate throws, good footwork. Left handed hitter, open stance, pull approach, long loose swing with some present bat speed, hits with low hands and gets under the ball and lifts, ball comes off the barrel hard when squared, showed the ability to drive the left centerfield gap in games, has hitting tools to develop. Named to the National Underclass Showcase Main Event Top Prospect Team.
