Chris Jimenez is a 2017 C/2B, OF with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Fontana, CA who attends Etiwanda HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, sound defensive actions and moves well behind the plate, pops out of crouch well and gains ground with lower half, short arm action with nice catch and throw skills, quick transfer with strength and accuracy to the bag, best pop 1.87. Takes short steps to the ball in the infield, fields the ball out front, short arm action through release, accurate throws with strength. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright and slightly open stance and a high hand set. Upper body swing, strength plays in swing and gets extended with contact out front. Tilted barrel head to start, balanced swing, shows nice carry off the barrel when on time through zone, comfort hitting to opposite field as well. Named to West Coast Underclass Top Prospect List. Good student.
