Ben Samborn is a 2015 3B/1B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Glenview, IL who attends Glenbrook South HS. Medium frame, broad shoulder, lean build with room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.26 60 yard dash. Shows arm strength across the infield, carry with accuracy to first base, 3B tools, sound defensive actions, makes the play. On the mound shows a long arm action, releasing from a three-quarter arm slot. Gets closed at balance point. Fastball topped at 73 mph with sinking action. Curveball flashes 11/5 spin and has a feel for a changeup that dives. Needs to incorporate lower half into delivery. Left handed batter who starts with a wide base and high back elbow. Show bat speed with some strength, loose, quick hands, aggressive on pitches in the zone, opposite to middle of the field contact. Excellent student.
