John Mantecon is a 5-9/17 lb sophomore catcher from Orlando, FL. He has good arm strength for his age at 73 mph. Best pop time of 2.15. Mantecon has a good catcher's frame and some present strength. His feet worked well behind the plate. His throwing times will improve with a shorter arm arch and with his arm strength and young age he should be below 2.00 in no time. Mantecon is a left handed hitter with very good bat speed right now. He has hand strength and can swing the wood. He has some leverage in his swing that you can project into more power in the future and does a good job coiling and getting himself in a position to hit. Mantecon is also a very good student.
