R.J. Perkins is a 2015 SS/UT with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Pleasanton, CA who attends Foothill HS. Tall, slender frame with more room to fill out. Ran a 7.44 60 yard dash. Hands work well on the infield and stays back on the ball. Arm strength is developing but shows good carry. Needs to find consistent release point. Bats from both sides of the plate, works from a simple, upright setup from each side. Uses his hands very well and makes hard pull side contact. Stays on top of the ball and flashes good bat speed. Has sound swing mechanics and stays inside the ball. Good student.
