Anthony Ferrara is a 2008 LHP/OF with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Riverview FL, who attends Riverview HS. He has a athletic build with wide shoulders and plenty of room to get stronger. Ferrara was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. Ferrara is one of the top southpaws in the 2008 class. He's in the low 90's every time we see him and was up to 93 mph in Fort Myers. He has a long, very fast arm action and does a good job of hiding the ball in his delivery. Ferrara uses his lower body well in his delivery. He has some falloff on release which could impact his feel for the strike zone at this point. His fastball is pretty straight but jumps on hitters because of the velocity and deception. Ferrara only threw a couple of curveballs in warm ups but they were hard and sharp and it looks like a potential plus pitch for him. One thing that he needs to work on and that teams in WWBA competition have taken advantage of is his ability to hold baserunners. Ferrara has a chance to be a high draft pick this June.
