Kenneth Giles is a 2016 C/3B/2B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Robins, IA who attends Xavier HS. Medium frame with good present build; athletic with projection and present strength throughout. Hits from slightly crouched, squared stance. Shows good bat speed and natural lift in swing. Uses inside path to the baseball. Gets extended with power to the pull field, though it's inconsistent. Will get off-balance at times. Worked out both at catcher and in the infield. Receives ball well behind the plate with soft hands, makes accurate throws down to 2nd base, popping as low as 2.18 seconds. Gains ground well with solid footwork. In the infield, shows semi-stiff, but effective, actions when fielding ground balls. Transfers well and makes accurate throws across the diamond, topping at 73 MPH velocity. Very good student.
