Councill is a 6-0, 170 lb junior outfielder from Texas with a projectable build. He ran the 60 in 7.31 and threw 76 mph from the outfield. Councill took two different approaches to hitting between batting practice and live game action. During batting practice he hit from a no load, no stride approach with no lower half involvment and hit the ball exclusively to right field. He showed some hand strength and bat speed but his swing mechanics didn't allow him to drive the ball with any authority. During the games Councill got some rhythm and lower half turn into his swing and hit the ball to all fields and drove a couple of balls well. It looks like he has plenty of natural hitting ability that is ready to come to the surface with a more consistent approach and continuing physical development. Good follow for future offensive improvement.
