Matthew Olson is a 2016 SS/3B/2B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Louisville, KY who attends Dupont Manual HS. Olson has a medium sized frame with a thin lean build. Defensively he showed developing actions through the ball with developing footwork. Olson showed good hands with clean transfers on the infield. He also showed some arm strength up to 77 MPH. Defensively his tools profile best next level at second base. At the plate, Olson starts with a wide open stance with a high hand set. He swings on a downward plane to the baseball and looked to pull in game. He showed some bat speed and made hard contact to the third baseman in game. Olson made consistent barrel contact in BP with baseballs hit to the opposite field. Good student.
