John Piser is a 2008 LHP with a 5'9'', 170 lb. frame from Wellington FL, who attends Wellington HS. He has a short, athletic build and some present strength. Piser throws from a over the top release point with a short arm stroke that has some deception. He throws his fastball in the 71-73 mph range with a top of 75 mph. He moves his fastball in and out well and does a good job throwing strikes and getting ahead in counts. Piser's breaking ball was 65 mph and had good spin and a deep downer bite. He used his curveball well in sequence with his fastball and kept hitters off balance. Piser has good pitchability and can be effective if he's able to add some velocity in the future.
