Zach Turner is a 2017 C/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Kinston, NC who attends North Lenoir. Medium, athletic frame with slender present build and good room to continue filling out body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.51 seconds. Hits with hands set high in stance, some hand movement pre swing, loads into good position, shows line drive swing plane, sprayed consistent contact on the ground and on a line to all fields. Worked out defensively both in the outfield and behind the plate. Shows quality footwork to ball and clean actions throughout when fielding in the OF; transfers well and has quick release on throws to both 3B and home, OF velocity clocked at 76 MPH. Sets up high behind the plate with narrow base, clean transfer from glove to hand post-reception, projectable catching tools throughout, threw accurately to 2B bag and popped as low as 2.21 seconds. Good student.
