David Koczirka is a 2007 RHP/3B/SS from Bishop Shanahan HS in Thornton, PA with a 6'1", 178 lb. frame. David has an athletic build and was one of the top performers at the showcase. On the mound David had a live arm with a fastball that topped at 86 from a 3/4 arm slot with some life on the ball. David has a sharp downer CB and a CH with good run on the ball. He is solid mechanically and has a good feel for how to pitch. At the plate David hits from a tall stance with good extension in his swing and likes to drive the ball to RCF. His swing can get a little long at times and he needs to work on keeping his hands inside the ball. David shows good feet in the infield and an arm with good carry on the ball. David projects best as a pitcher right now and looks to be a solid Division I prospect.
