Garrett Busby is a 2016 C/RHP/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Lena, MS who attends East Rankin Academy. Busby has a medium thick build with room to fill out. Hits from square stance. Line drive swing plane with a compact swing. Toe tap trigger to start swing with bat speed. Likes ball in and has hands to get to inside pitch. Showed gap to gap power potential. Defensively, loose arm action with good carry on throws. Has good defensive tools to continue to improve behind plate. Also pitched, full wind up delivery with a short arm action. Compact and tight release with good arm whip from a high 3/4 slot. Ball comes out clean with a mostly straight fastball. Repeated delivery, filled up strike zone. Flashed CB potential with 12/6 shape with good depth. Outstanding Student. Named to the Southeast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect Team.
