James Ferguson is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Fort Worth, TX who attends Fort Worth Country Day HS. Big and strong athletic build, very projectable physically. Long loose arm action on the mound, swings his front side open early and lands open with his front foot, 3/4's arm slot, some energy on release. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, good arm side running action at times. Sweeping curveball has some shape and depth to it, will get over it at times for more downer shape, gets some sink and fade on his change up, showed good feel with his secondary pitches. Good arm and could immediately improve with some front side adjustments. Right handed hitter with a rotational swing with some strength and raw bat speed. 7.23 runner who showed his arm strength in the outfield. Good overall athlete, which will help his pitching development. Good student.
