Charles Shipp is a 2016 3B/SS with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Fair Oaks Ranch, TX who attends Boerne - Samuel V Champion. Large, athletic build with a physical build and nice present strength that plays in his action. Primary third baseman, shows solid footwork in the infield, gets on top of throws well with very good present arm strength and online carry to first base. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set pulled back. Uses a leg lift trigger for timing with a stride into contact. Barred start, shows quick hands and a sound approach during in game at bats. Good bat speed with nice strength and jump off the barrel, especially to pull side but shows the ability to hit to all fields with intent. Some lift in swing and gets the barrel head through the zone. Named to South Underclass Top Prospect List. Outstanding student.
