Blake Whiting is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-6 205 lb. frame from Kennesaw, GA who attends The Walker HS. Whiting has a long lean build with room to fill out. Short arm action to mid 3/4 arm slot. Online delivery with good extension out front. Works from stretch only and does good job getting hip load with a high leg kick, needs to load up better on slide step to maintain velocity with runners on. Shows good feel for 10/4 short breaking curveball that flashed tight spin and depth. Has good mound presence and is athletic off mound to field position. Hit from an open stance, patient at plate during games. Has loose easy swing that he repeats well. Good barrel control with consistent contact. Defensively, good actions around bag and shows good athleticism around bag and good body control. Named To Top Prospect List.
