Patrick McNamara is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Roswell, GA who attends Blessed Trinity Catholic HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength and long limbs with room to fill out with additional strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, smooth arm action coming through the backside, quick and clean arm stroke working to a high three-quarters arm slot. Occasionally gets out of sync with halves but fills up the zone when on time and finishing fastball, topped out at 85 mph with heavy life to the pitch. Fluid mechanics and showed a 1-7 curveball at 72 mph. Arm strength plays in out field as well, has an overall smoothness to actions and mechanics. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and does a nice job of incorporating lower half and shifting weight through. High back elbow, employs a pull approach and shows bat speed through the zone with a smooth and quick stroke, feel for barrel and comes off hard when squared, occasionally gets out front early. Showed nice two-way potential. Very good student.
