Kelani Luke is a 2016 SS with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from St Thomas, VI who attends Ivanna Eudora Kean HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a high waist, present strength with additional room to still fill out. Ran a 7.00 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet and shows quickness, nice lateral range with strong range going up the middle, compact arm action in the ball with short release, fields the ball out front, extra step at release but shows arm strength and carry across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright stance with a high back elbow and hand set away from body in the box. Small gliding step moving into contact, simple approach in the box with line drive swing plane coming through. Upper body swing with feel for the barrel, line drive contact with comfort hitting to middle and pull parts of the field. Good student.
