Gavin Gorrell is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 6-2 181 lb. frame from North Bend, WA who attends Mount Si HS. Nice athletic build, has some present strength with more to come. High 3/4's arm slot, gets good angle to the plate, sound overall mechanics with good balance and consistency, arm works well coming through. Upper 70's fastball, gets good sinking and running life, throws his fastball to spots and likes to work inside to hitters, can get cut on his fastball working glove side. Nice change up with proper arm speed. Curveball shows good depth at times. Showed a feel for missing barrels and has the ability to mix pitches and sequence with maturity. Has athleticism defensively both coming off the mound and at first base. Left handed hitter, has some hitting tools, sound mechanical swing with a short line drive path, showed some gap power. Has all the ingredients there to keep improving as he gets stronger, very sound fundamental player. Good student
