Jake Oblas is a 2016 RHP/3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Gunter, TX who attends Gunter HS. Large, athletic frame with long, loose limbs and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from an extended three-quarter arm slot with a quick arm coming through the back. Works exclusively from the stretch with a high leg lift and a hip turn at top of delivery. Lands closed with front foot causing cross body release but gets on top of the ball and fills up lower quadrants of strike zone. Creates downhill plane on fastball that topped at 80 mph with occasional sinking life and projects for more. Gets some extension out front and shows late break on 11-5 curveball at 75 mph. Good student.
