James Thomas is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Fallbrook, CA who attends Fallbrook HS. Nice athletic build, some present strength. Interesting potential two-way prospect. Drop and drive delivery style, arm works well, 3/4's arm slot. Works fastball and change up the whole range between 72-84, has feel for velocity and movement, short breaking slider is effective, rare curveball. Projects to throw harder, might benefit from a taller delivery. 6.97 runner, showed his athleticism defensively in the outfield, good footwork, quick release, on line accurate throws. Right handed hitter, low hand start, loose uppercut swing, has some bat speed, looking to pull and lift, power approach. Has the tools to keep improving. Good student.
