Richard Nesler, II is a 2014 2B/SS/RHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Lanham, MD who attends Riverdale Baptist HS. Medium athletic build, young look, has room to get stronger. 6.93 runner, fundamentally sound defender at second base, stays balanced and has good hands and footwork, clean exchange and release with accurate throws, good arm strength for second base. Right handed hitter, tall open stance with a high hand start, hand drop load, long extended swing, wants to get his hands extended at contact and can be beat inside, showed good game power to the opposite field and ran the bases well. Also pitched and has two-way potential. Simple turn and throw delivery, high 3/4's arm slot from a compact arm action. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, good arm side running action at times, big sweeping 10/4 curveball was effective, developing change up. Will benefit from additional strength.
