Axel Cruz is a 2012 RHP with a 6-2 168 lb. frame from Dorado, PR who attends Colegio Santa Rosa. Slender young build, minimal present strength. Leg raise delivery, high 3/4's arm slot, tends to land on hard front side and doesn't always get over the ball at release. Very consistent 80-82 mph fastball, mostly straight, commands fastball well when mechanics are together, upper 60's curveball with short rolling break. Competes well and has some projection with his stuff if he gets stronger.
