Grant Spillers is a 2014 C/3B with a 5-10 190 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Olathe East. Spillers has a medium sized frame with a thick build. Defensively he has good footwork and foot quickness. Spillers has good catch and throw actions with developing arm strength. He stays low at set up and blocks well. Spillers receives well and showed good energy you like to see out of a catcher. At the plate, he uses a leg lift load to start his swing and he has a simple approach. Spillers stays tall on his backside and maintains good balance through his swing. He gets through the ball well and made consistent hard line drive contact in BP. Spillers had quite a few backspin line drives and he showed some power potential. He has good hitting tools to improve with. Very good student.
