Ross Martin is a 2014 LHP/OF with a 6-0 148 lb. frame from Kathleen, GA who attends Veterans HS. Slender slope shouldered build, minimal present strength. Leg raise delivery, long stride to the plate, limited leverage at release, long arm action with some wrap in back, 3/4's slot. Upper 60's fastball, topped out at 70 mph, soft curveball, change up best pitch with good arm speed. Throws strikes with all pitches and makes the hitters swing. Switch hitter, nice swing left handed, moves through contact well, short fluid swing, good balance and timing, solid line drive contact, similar approach right handed but without the bat speed and strength at contact. 7.60 runner, runs good routes in the outfield, nice diving catch. Grades out better as position prospect than pitching prospect. Good student.
