Mitchell Blackstone is a 2015 C/OF, 1B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Dunn Loring, VA who attends Marshall. Extra-large, athletic build with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Strong runner, posted a 6.80 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives out front, front side opens early, tight release from ear, shows strength on throws down, quick transfer, can get pop time even lower with incorporation of lower half to gain ground on throws.. Right-handed batter, starts with a wide base and a lower hand set. Upper half swing, gets barrel to the ball consistently, line drive contact to pull side, creates leverage in swing, short load with hands, comes off the barrel well. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
