Michael Fuda is a 2007 right handed hitting middle infielder from Katy HS, residing in Katy, TX, with a 6'0" 180 lb. frame that is strong and athletically proportioned. A strong all-around performer, Fuda was ranked #66 among the 2006 PG National Top 100 position players. He hits from a squared off stance and narrow set-up with his feet. He displayed a quiet hitting approach, reminiscent of a Paul Molitor type approach to hitting. His approach had minimal movement and very slight hand load, with a no-stride lower half. Fuda has good bat control and can move the ball around the diamond. He is a good contact hitter and was effective hitting the ball the other way as he showed the ability to let the ball get deep in the zone. Fuda's offensive abilities would seem to fit well in the two-hole. He looked to be the type of hitter that can help make an offense go. Defensively he showed off good lateral range and good hands. He has a quick arm with solid average arm strength up to 84 mph across the diamond. A good athlete, Fuda ran 4.37 home/1st and posted a quick 6.65 60 yard dash time. He is a quality D1 prospect and likely will get some draft consideration this spring.

Fuda is a 5-11, 165 lb junior infielder from Texas with a very lively and athletic body. He was the first player at the showcase to run the 60 and ran a blazing 6.52, which had the PG scouts immediately questioning whether they had measured the course correctly (we had). Fuda has long, flowing strides and reaches top speed very quickly. He's a pretty runner who has potential impact speed as he matures and gets stronger. Right now, Fuda looks bigger and stronger than his listed 5-11, 165 lbs. He generates good bat speed at the plate with a good rock back load, quick hands and a high finish. Fuda projects well as a hitter as he matures. Defensively, Fuda showed some arm strength at 81 mph during drills. He can be a bit deliberate in his defensive actions at both second base and shortstop but made all the routine plays cleanly. Fuda has an older brother who plays college baseball and is much better and stronger, which makes you like Fuda's physical projection. Named to the Top Prospect Game.
