2007 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Travis Olson is a 2008 C/3B with a 5'11'', 180 lb. frame from Hiawatha, Iowa, who attends Kennedy High School. Olson has present strength in his body. Defensively he showed an accurate arm throwing to second base producing pop times of 2.29. Olson could cut down his pop times by shortening up his arm action on his throws. He handled the different pitchers well. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an upright and open stance with a simple and balanced approach. Olson likes the ball on the inner half and he likes to turn on the ball hitting to his pull side. Olson is a player that plays hard and will do the little things to help a team win. He is a good student as well.
