William Cherry is a 2005 outfielder from Lakeland, Florida. He has a strong frame at 6'1", 195 lbs. Cherry showed solid actions in the OF with great arm strength (90OF) and carry. His throws were on line and he stayed behind the ball well. He also ran a 6.88-60 and showed the ability to play any outfield spot. Cherry has a quick bat with projectable power. He hits with quiet hands and a short stride. Cherry gets great leverage and the ball jumps off his bat. He showed the ability to use the entire field in batting practice, and he has a very high ceiling. He has a pro future and he is a very good student who has signed with Florida Southern.

Cherry is definitely an "05" to watch. He has an athletic body and some very good MLB tools. He has proven he can hit good pitching and flashes power with wood. He really crushes the low pitches. His arm grades out MLB average or better as does his running ability. He's going to end up playing at a very high level. Perhaps even the big leagues down the road. He has an excellent feel for the game and loves to compete. Will is also an excellent student.

Will is an oustanding 05 outfielder. We've seen him better before but he still showed ok speed and a big arm. He can hit. Will is a line drive hitter and loves to hit the fastball. He has a nice swing with quick hands through the zone. We think he will be a big time player. Remember his name, he loves to compete and he has some MLB tools.

Excellent "05" prospect with plus running ability and arm. Pitches, but we like him much better as a player. Real quick hands at the plate. Quiet approach with a good swing plane and extension. Contact/power with wood. He can play in a big way. Top "05" prospect.

Cherry looked like a high school veteran on the diamond. He had a mature approach at the plate, showed a good swing and hit to all parts of the field with authority. His body is slim and strong and he projects real well. In the field he took good routes to the ball and showed some arm strength. His quick hands and hitting ability are advanced for a freshman and he ran the bases even better than his 6.84 time in the 60 indicates.
