Will Blankenship -- Blankenship is a strong bodied "freshman" catcher from Florida. Blankenship hits out of a tall, slightly open stance and generates very good bat speed for his age. He could add more power right now by involving his lower half in his swing more. Blankenship showed good pull power in batting practice and also hit some balls hard to right field in games. Defensively, Blankenship throws better than his workout numbers indicate. He was really rushing things trying to be quick and it didn’t help him. His game throws were much better and he could easily develop into an excellent defensive receiver. His receiving skills are very good. Will is a very good student. Keep an eye on this "07".
