Nicholas Hulick is a 2014 LHP/1B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Pineville, LA who attends Pineville HS. Very strong athletic build. Long easy arm action, low effort release, some drift in delivery, best command when he stays back and balanced, high 3/4's arm slot, projects some velocity. Fastball topped at 86 mph, commanded FB well to both sides of the plate, good late life at times, used fastball aggressively. Soft curveball at 67 mph, tends to lower elbow and release point, 2-plane shape. Velocity has really improved in last 6 months, will have to develop off speed further. Left handed hitter, open stance with pull approach, tends to hit around the ball but has strength and some bat speed, shows lift in his swing. Solid defensive actions at first base. Named to the Top Prospect Team.
