We always enjoy watching High pitch and play, as we get to frequently during the summer. He’s one of the better “game” pitchers around and has an advanced knowledge of how to get hitters out. High throws from a somewhat unconventional high ¾’s delivery with a raised pause in back but his arm works cleanly and he repeats his arm stroke well. The overall effect is very deceptive to hitters. His best pitch is a power 73-76 curveball that has sharp two-plane break to it and gets many hitters to chase outside the zone. High’s fastball was in the 85-88 mph range and is an effective set up pitch for his curveball. At 6-2, 175, High should be able to add some strength and velocity as he matures. Travis is also a good hitter and an excellent athlete. The higher academic institutions will like his 4.5 GPA and 1370 SAT.

High is an "04" P/IF who could develop into a real nice draft pick. He's already a top DI type prospect. Right now he plays shortstop and shows very good actions and a MLB arm. He does have a habit of standing too upright at SS. He can hit and will hit for power and he will end up with MLB running ability. As good as he is as an athlete, we like him just as much if not better on the mound. He has flirted with 90 and will end up throwing 90+ consistently. He has a real good slider/slurve that he throws in the upper 70s. It will end up being a plus MLB pitch. The mid 70s change looked pretty good too. He shows intelligence and a great feel for the game. Watch him closely, he could become a top name in the "04" class.
