2004 Underclass National Showcase
Tom Hatcher -- Hatcher is a junior catcher from Georgia with very good strength throughout his 6-2, 210 lb. body. He really swung the bat well for us, showing a nice pro style set up at the plate with a level swing and good extension. Hatcher’s hand and upper body strength come into play here and generates excellent bat speed and he hits the ball hard consistently. Big time wood bat power potential. He should be able to handle the pitching at the next level very well. Hatcher has good body life for a big guy and moves well behind the plate. His pop times were consistently in the 1.90 range during the workouts and his raw arm strength was very good. Hatcher is a very good student as well. Tom will play at a very high level and he should get some pro interest.
