Juan Pimentel is a 2013 RHP with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Felix Varela HS. Big athletic build with good present strength. Simple step back and throw delivery, gets hips turned, repeats mechanics, smooth extended arm action, shows ball in back, mid to low 3/4's arm slot. Fastball to 84 mph with some arm side run, can throw to both sides of the plate, leaves FB up in zone too often. Very good change up, good arm speed with some late sink, lots of swing/miss on change, rare curveball with soft sweeping break. Works quickly and throws strikes, could pitch to corners better. Should keep improving, change up is a weapon. Named to the Top Prospect Team.
