Jake Colombo is a 2013 C/RHP with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Cave Creek, AZ who attends Cactus Shadows. Colombo has a bigger frame with a solid strong build. He has solid feet behind the plate and moves well. He has some arm strength with developing catch and throw skills. At the plate, Colombo uses a knee lift trigger to start his swing with a longer swing path. He generates some bat speed and has some power potential. Colombo pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action and some arm speed. He uses a quick paced delivery and throws downhill well. His fastball gets some arm side run to it and he keeps it down in the zone well. Colombo throws an 11/5 curve ball with good shape to it. Listed as a primary catcher but projects and graded out better on the mound and PG grade reflects that.
