Ted Kleist is a 2006 outfielder from U. of San Diego HS in El Cajon, California, with a 5'10", 180 lb. frame. Defensively he shows good actions with a quick arm and accurate throws. Kleist showed great range in the outfield especially going back on a ball in left field. His game quickness is much better than his sixty time might suggest. At the plate he hits from a straight away stance with a good approach. He loads his hands well and shows good bat speed. Kleist makes solid contact from a line drive swing plane with a slight loft at times when he opens up early. Presently he has gap to gap power from the left side. Kleist is a very good defensive outfielder with solid hitting tools who should be followed.
