David Stearns is a 2012 C/3B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Rivervale, NJ who attends Pascack Valley. Medium frame player with room to fill out. Solid receiving skills behind the plate. Feet gain ground on throws to second base. Online throwing mechanics with solid arm strength. Pops consistently below 2.10, project to drop more with additional strength and quickness. Raw with catching skills but has potential. Slightly open stance at the plate with good contact skills. Swing is long at times as he looks to pull the ball. Also can go the other way with pitches on the outer half of the plate.
