Sammy Stevens is a 2014 C/1B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Birmingham, MI who attends Brother Rice HS. Big strong projectable build. Solid defensive skills behind the plate, good lateral agility, works hard behind the plate, frames well. Has strength at contact, kept hands inside the baseball well, tried to be too short to the ball at times, didn't get as much use from natural strength in swing as a result. Has a chance to develop power, opposite field contact oriented approach at present. Quick bat, fluid swing, has bat speed, makes solid contact on occasion, real good raw hitting tools to project. Excellent student.
