Nico Maida is a 2013 MIF/OF with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Grossmont. Maida has a medium sized frame with a compact build. He has a good hands and quick transfers defensively with a quick release. Maida has smooth actions and his feet work well on the infield. He has developing arm strength with good defensive tools. At the plate, Maida starts with a square stance and uses a leg lift trigger to start his swing. He made consistent hard line drive contact and generates good bat speed. He uses a middle of the field approach and uses his hands well in his swing. Maida showed good instincts on the base paths and defensively. Excellent student.
