Michael Strem is a 2013 MIF/RHP with a 5-11 177 lb. frame from Burlingame, CA who attends St. Francis HS. Medium athletic frame, good present strength. Right handed hitter, straight stance, easy compact swing, good hand strength, can drive the ball up the gaps, good balance, inconsistent swing mechanics and hand path. Best defensive position third base, has some arm strength with carry, soft hands, can field through the ball better. Also a pitching prospect. Slow paced delivery, short compact arm action, stays back and generates leverage, tight high 3/4's release point, hides ball effectively and has deception. Fastball to 85 mph, have seen 88 before, mostly straight, occasional fade in low 80's. Good feel for breaking ball, varies shape and speed, flashes tight spin and hard break. Good idea how to pitch. Good student.
