Ryan Shook is a 2006 left handed pitcher/first baseman from Antelope, California, with an average frame and lean build. He has a lot of room to add more muscle. He shows some arm strength at 1B, and has the hands to handle this position. Shook hits from a narrow base with some weight transfer towards contact with good ability to center the ball. On the mound, he has some natural lefty tailing action to his fastball, and the ability to throw strikes. Hitters had some trouble seeing the ball off of him. Shook showed some good pitchability that should play at the next level. He's also very athletic, runs well and shows good instincts. Ryan is a very good student.
