Sam Welton is a 2013 OF/1B/3B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Pinnacle HS. Nice athletic build, very projectable, some present strength. Left handed hitter, tall stance, high hand set, aggressive swing with bat speed, looks to get his hands out and drive the ball, has lift and extension, confident approach, good plate coverage but can improve on inner half, unlocking lower half will unlock his power potential. 7.25 runner, charges hard in the outfield, good routes, fields cleanly, has arm strength with good carry and accuracy, would like to see him play third base, should have the tools. Excellent student.
