He has longer transfers with developing arm strength. He has good speed and gets down the line well. Smith has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. He has good hitting tools and some power potential. Outstanding student.

Kolton Smith is a 2014 MIF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Toledo, IA who attends South Tama HS. Medium athletic build with room to fill. Smooth hands defensively, works through the ball well, smooth fielding actions, good range defensively, solid middle infield defender. Swung the bat very well against live pitching, showed ability to pick up ball out of pitchers hand and go with the pitch very well. Low hand set, loose swing, good rhythm to swing, sprays to all fields. Line drive swing plane, not a power hitter but has understanding of his strengths and uses them well, stays back on offspeed pitches well, good plate coverage. Good all around feel for game, good jumps on bases, good instincts, above average speed plays up a notch. Excellent student.
