Paul Barnhill is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-6 210 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Charlotte Country Day School. Very tall, XL frame, long athletic build, ideal pitcher's frame. Pitches from a three quarter arm slot, medium arm action, sharp downhill plane, very heavy fastball with sink. Good feel for curveball, true 12-6 break with good depth, throws it for strikes. Changeup flashes potential, developing slider, good feel for offspeed stuff, low effort delivery. Raw power at the plate, good leverage, good extension, aggressive hitter, drilled a ball 89 mph off the bat in game action, though upside is clearly on the mound. Good student. Verbal to Furman.
