Ryan Delf is a 2007 C/3B with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Blue Grass IA, who attends West HS. He has a present strong build with good body life. Delk ran the 60 in 7.27 and was 4.40 down to first base from the right side. He took defensive drills at both catcher and third base. Delk has a quick release and short, compact arm stroke behind the plate and threw 71 mph with a best pop time of 1.99. Delk's release point is low and his throws tend to tail. He has good mobility at third base and a similar arm stroke and release. Offensively, Delk has strength in his bat when he's balanced and hitting through the ball. We've seen him frequently but at this event he lengtened his swing and was trying to lift and pull the ball and ended up consistently hitting around and over the ball. His regular approach works best for him and he has the basic tools to develop as a hitter. Delk is also a good student.
