Marshall Gei is a 2014 C/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Louisville, KY who attends Eastern. Young catcher with good athleticism and room to add strength. High level defensive catcher with tools that project. Sets up low, has very good actions, catches the ball clean, and transfer is smooth. Online with his footwork and mechanics are excellent. Arm strength is solid with more to come with overall strength. Blocked and received well in games, knows the game. Switch hitter with lots of potential from both sides. Left side, short, line drive stroke with strength and a smooth finish. Right side, simple swing mechanics with quick hands and an all fields approach. Arm worked well on the mound, low effort, online delivery with command of three pitches. 11/5 curveball has good shape and spin, and 69 mph changeup showed sink and present feel. Versatile player with huge upside. Excellent student.
