Robert Gariano is a 2006 right handed pitcher/shortstop from Nutley, NJ, who was named to the Underclass Top Prospect team. Gariano is an athletic pitcher who throws from a ¾ arm slot, with fast arm action, and a 10-4 big 69 mph breaking ball. His fastball comes out of his hand well as he topped out at 84 mph with some arm side run. Gariano mixed his pitches well as he had good control of all 3 pitches he threw, and had good variations in pitch velocities. Offensively, he hits from an open stance, and likes the ball on the inner half of the plate, but has the ability to hit the ball hard back up the middle. Gariano is a definite player to watch from the 2006 class. Robert is an excellent student.
