2003 Northeast Underclass Showcase
Sommer is a junior outfielder who showed a good bat in an event filled with top hitters. He also showed good running ability and defensive instincts in the outfield. He can track down fly balls and his arm worked better from the outfield than it did on the mound. At the plate he showed a nice smooth swing. He was a bit long in batting practice but shortened up a little and appeared a notch faster in the games. He played the game the way is was meant to be played and showed us a competitive level that College Coaches are looking for. He is a sharp hitting outfielder with a good upside. Aaron is a good student.
