Lucas Long is a 2011 RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Minneapolis, MN who attends Academy of Holy Angels. Medium athletic build, room to get stronger. Slow paced leg raise delivery, tight compact arm action, hides the ball well, 3/4's release point, occasionally a bit lower. Steady 88-90 mph fastball, runs flat when up, sinks well when down, pretty good present command. Slurve type breaking ball, slider shape at curveball speed, needs to go one direction or the other, some feel for change up. Nice arm, improvement of the breaking ball will be key. Good student.
