Dotson is a 5-9, 175 lb senior second baseman from Texas with good upper body strength. He has a short compact swing at the plate from a balanced approach and showed the ability to hit line drives to all parts of the field. Dotson looks to be the type who is a high average hitter at the high school level. Dotson ran the 60 in 7.87 but showed better speed on the bases and on defense. He showed 75 mph arm strength during infield drills. Dotson is a hustling type player who enjoys the game and will max out his physical tools. He is also a very good student.
